On Beirut Blast 1st Anniversary, Fayrouz Shares Heartfelt Tribute

Iconic Lebanese singer, Fayrouz marked Wednesday on social media the first anniversary of the catastrophic Beirut port blast.

The blast, one of the biggest non-nuclear explosions ever recorded, had killed over 200 people and wounded thousands. The impact of the explosion was felt in Cyprus, more than 240 km (150 miles) away.

The pa expressed on Twitter her great sadness for the victims of the blast by sharing a video from one of her songs, in which she says: "Do you hear? .. My family died".

Many celebrities in Lebanon and the Arab world such as Nadine Nassib Njeim, Ragheb Alama, Assi El Hallani, had taken to social media to express their sadness and share videos of their homes and neighborhoods that were destroyed in the explosion.
