The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi, affirmed Wednesday that a comprehensive and just peace between the Arab countries and Israel cannot be achieved without a two-state solution based on the principle of land for peace and an end to the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands.
Al Busaidi’s statements were made during his speech before the Arab foreign ministers attending the opening session of the 154th Arab League’s council.
During the session, the Omani foreign minister handed over the chairmanship of the Council to the State of Palestine.
Al Busaidi stressed his country’s support to the Palestinian people until they get their legitimate rights, in addition to the Sultanate’s support to all peace efforts and initiatives in the region.

In his speech, Al-Busaidi touched on the current situation in the Middle East and how to find peaceful creative solutions to the issues and challenges that threaten the Arab peoples.
Oman Support to Regional Files
Al-Busaidi, whose country presided over the work of the 153rd session of the Council of the League of Arab States, expressed the Sultanate of Oman’s solidarity with the Republic of Sudan to overcome its ordeal from the impact of torrents and floods and welcomed the agreement between the Republic of Sudan and South Sudan.
He also affirmed Oman's support of the Lebanese Republic and called on the international community to rebuild it.
Al-Busaidi welcomed the role played by the Kingdom of Morocco in hosting the Libyan parties, wishing this dialogue success and achieving the hopes of the brotherly Libyan people.
Moreover, he congratulated the State of Palestine and welcomed its assumption of the presidency of the 154th session of the Arab League Council, and that its endeavors were crowned with success.
