Oman’s ambassador to Egypt described the war in Gaza as a “genocide and collective starvation,” condemning what he called grave violations of international humanitarian law and reaffirming that the Palestinian cause remains the central issue for the Arab world, in exclusive statements to SEE.
Oman’s ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League, Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi said Oman has opposed the war since its outset and has consistently called for political solutions, even when such positions conflicted with those of major international powers. He added that developments on the ground have demonstrated the dangers of relying on military solutions.
Addressing developments in the Horn of Africa, Al-Rahbi strongly rejected Israel’s recognition of what he termed “so-called Somaliland,” calling it a direct threat to Arab national security, particularly to Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He said the move is part of attempts to destabilize the region and gain control over vital maritime routes.
