Omani Foreign Minister (FM) Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi discussed, with his Cypriot counterpart, Constantinos Kompos, bilateral relations and ways to develop them and diversify joint cooperation in the economic, commercial and technical fields.
They also agreed to complete a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding, including the agreement to avoid double taxation and prevent financial evasion, and the cooperation project in the field of agriculture, and fish resources, with a focus on activating partnership and cooperation in the field of maritime transport and shipping, as well as enhancing cooperation in the field of tourism, education, and renewable energy.
During their meeting, both sides reviewed the current regional and international developments, most notably the repercussions of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and the tragic humanitarian situation and tension in the Red Sea region.
Moreover, they stressed the necessity of urgently reaching a ceasefire and allowing all types of humanitarian needs to flow to Gaza Strip and launching the process of establishing a two-state solution to achieve security and just and comprehensive peace.
