Oman Reaffirms Support for Somalia’s Unity, Sovereignty

Oman has reaffirmed its support for the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, underscoring the importance of respecting international law and the United Nations Charter.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Sultanate said it is closely following developments related to Somalia’s unity and the safety of its territories. Oman emphasized its firm backing for Somalia’s sovereignty and internationally recognized borders.

The statement stressed the need to adhere to the principles of international law and warned against any unilateral actions that could undermine the unity or sovereignty of states. Such steps, Oman said, risk destabilizing countries and contravene established international norms.

Oman’s position reflects its longstanding policy of supporting regional stability, peaceful coexistence and respect for state sovereignty, particularly in the Horn of Africa, which has witnessed heightened political sensitivities in recent months.
