Oil Prices Decline with Ceasefire Announcement

Oil prices settled in early trading on Wednesday, as markets watch for the potential impact of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, with an awaiting next Sunday’s OPEC+ meeting.

The Brent crude futures fell to $72.79 a barrel, while the U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures fell to $68.73.

Oil prices fell on Tuesday following Israel’s approval of a ceasefire agreement with the Lebanese group Hezbollah.

The ceasefire agreement, brokered by the United States and France, came into effect Wednesday at 4 a.m. local time (02:00 GMT).
