OIC Welcomes UN Report on Israeli Occupation’s Crimes against Palestinian Children

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has expressed its welcome and support for the report recently issued by the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Israel’s deliberate targeting of Palestinian children in the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 7 October 2023.

The General Secretariat emphasised that this international legal document exposes the scale of the war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide deliberately and systematically committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian children in particular, including killings, injuries, arrests, torture and violence – including sexual violence – as well as sieges and threats to the essentials of life through the denial of food and medicine and the disruption of health and education services, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, relevant international conventions and United Nations resolutions.

The General Secretariat called on the international community and the United Nations to take the necessary legal and political measures to implement the recommendations contained in the report, including ensuring an end to the ongoing Israeli violations and crimes in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, holding those responsible to account under international criminal law, and providing international protection for Palestinian children.
