The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, expressed the OIC’s solidarity with Afghanistan following the earthquake that struck northern Afghanistan early Monday, 3 November 2025. According to reports, the earthquake resulted in dozens of deaths and left many others injured.
The Secretary-General appealed to OIC Member States and humanitarian institutions to provide assistance to those affected by the disaster.
He also directed the OIC Office in Afghanistan to coordinate with the relevant authorities to assess the needs on the ground and work with OIC humanitarian institutions and partners to deliver the necessary support to the victims.
