OIC, U.N. to Hold International Conference on Jerusalem in Cairo

 The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in partnership with the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP), will convene an international conference on Jerusalem in Cairo on July 18.

Titled "Jerusalem: The Frontline of Displacement and Annexation and the Key to Achieving a Just and Lasting Peace," the conference will bring together government officials, diplomats, religious leaders, academics and representatives of international and regional organizations.

According to the OIC, the meeting will examine Israeli policies affecting Jerusalem, including issues related to displacement, annexation and demographic changes, within the broader context of developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Organizers said the conference aims to strengthen international awareness of the situation in Jerusalem and encourage renewed support for efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace based on international law and relevant U.N. resolutions.
