His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, received in his office at the headquarters of the General Secretariat, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Ahmed Maalim Faqi.
During the meeting, the Somali Foreign Minister stressed the importance that Somalia attaches to working with the OIC to enhance its role and promote joint Islamic action, and reviewed the developments in the political, economic, humanitarian and security situation in Somalia.
For his part, the Secretary-General praised the efforts of the Somali government to achieve development, stability and combat terrorism, and renewed the OIC support for the Somali Government.
