The Assistant Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ambassador Samir Bakr, assigned to the duties of the Secretary-General, received on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the General Secretariat headquarters, the Permanent Representative of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the OIC, Ambassador Ahmed Shaheen. Ambassador Shaheen presented an official invitation from H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, OIC Secretary-General, to attend the official opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum on November 1, 2025.
The Assistant Secretary-General expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Arab Republic of Egypt for this generous invitation and affirmed the support of the OIC Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, for these significant efforts in opening one of the largest international museums, which narrates the history of ancient Egyptian civilization and represents a unique cultural monument. He also stressed the support of the OIC Secretary-General for all initiatives that contribute to strengthening the cultural and civilizational identity of Member States and highlighting their contributions to enriching human civilization.
