OIC, Russia Reaffirm Support for Palestinian Rights in High-Level Meeting

On behalf of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ambassador Samir Bakr, Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Shareef, received Ambassador Turko Daudov, Permanent Observer of the Russian Federation to the OIC, at his OIC office today.

Ambassador Daudov expressed his country’s pride in its close cooperation with the OIC, affirming Russia’s support for the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their state and the establishment of justice and peace in the region. He also reviewed the various avenues of cooperation and dialogue between the Russian Federation and the OIC.

For his part, the Assistant Secretary-General welcomed Ambassador Daudov, praising the cooperative relations between the two sides and appreciating in particular the Russian Federation’s support for the Palestinian people’s efforts to restore their legitimate rights, most notably the establishment of an independent state with Al-Quds Al-Shareef as its capital. He expressed the OIC’s interest in developing ties between the two sides in the coming period.
