Tarig Ali Bakhit, assistant secretary-general for humanitarian, cultural and social affairs at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, met with Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova in Kazan to discuss expanding cultural cooperation between the OIC and Russia.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Russia–Islamic World: Kazan Forum in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Both sides praised the level of relations between the OIC and the Russian Federation, particularly in cultural cooperation, and explored ways to strengthen collaboration between the OIC General Secretariat and Russian institutions.
Discussions also focused on organizing joint cultural programs and activities in Russia and at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah.
Officials said the talks underscored the OIC’s commitment to expanding cultural partnerships with international partners.
