The Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, extended his congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia — may Allah protect them — on the occasion of the outstanding success of the Hajj season of 1447H.
The Secretary-General stressed that this success is a reflection of the great care and attention given by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s leadership, government, and people to serve the pilgrims from all parts of the world and provide them with all means of comfort and ease, so that they can perform their rituals in a faithful atmosphere of security, safety, and tranquility.
His Excellency praised the meticulous organisation and professional management witnessed in all stages of Hajj, from the arrival of pilgrims through the various ports, to their ascent to the holy sites, to the performance of rituals in Makkah and the holy sites, pointing out that the integration of the security, technical, health and service systems demonstrated to the world proves the Kingdom’s leadership and its unique ability to manage the largest human gatherings in the world with efficiency and competence.
The Secretary-General also praised the rapid development in the use of smart technologies and major development projects in Makkah and the holy sites, which have effectively contributed to facilitating the pilgrims’ faith journey and reflect the Kingdom’s constant endeavour to develop infrastructure and facilities in line with the aspirations of the Islamic Ummah.
The Secretary-General concluded his statement by praying to Allah Almighty to reward the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the best reward for the great services and care it provides to the Holy House of Allah and the Mosque of His Holy Prophet (PBUH) and to the pilgrims and Umrah performers, and wishing the pilgrims a safe return to their homelands, after Allah granted them the blessing of performing the Hajj rituals, and accepting their pilgrimage and endeavours.
