Upon a kind invitation from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) participated on 14 October 2025 in the final Consultative Meeting on “Local Solutions Towards Peaceful Coexistence in the Regional Context of the MENA and Asia Regions,” held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva as part of Geneva Peace Week.
The OIC was represented by Dr. Aisha Al-Ayafi, Director of Humanitarian Affairs, who highlighted the Organization’s ongoing efforts in the humanitarian field in countries affected by crises and disasters. She underscored the importance of sustained international cooperation and strategic partnerships to address displacement challenges and promote social cohesion within affected communities.
The meeting provided a valuable platform for the exchange of best practices and experiences and reaffirmed the OIC’s steadfast commitment to supporting displaced and vulnerable populations through humanitarian assistance, policy advocacy, and multilateral collaboration.
