The Organization of Islamic Cooperation launched the 52nd session of its Senior Officials Meeting at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters, with high-level representation from member states.
The meeting marks the third and most significant preparatory stage ahead of the Council of Foreign Ministers session scheduled to be held in Baghdad on April 11–12. During the sessions, senior officials are expected to draft key strategic decisions across political, legal, media and humanitarian fields.
Participants will also finalize the proposed program of work to be submitted to foreign ministers for review and adoption at the Baghdad meeting. The outcomes of the Senior Officials Meeting are set to play a central role in shaping the agenda and resolutions of the upcoming Council of Foreign Ministers.
The OIC said the preparations underscore member states’ commitment to coordinated action on shared challenges facing the Islamic world.
