Senior officials from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) held talks in Rabat on strengthening cooperation to support education and culture across the Islamic world, with particular emphasis on Palestine.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Executive Council session of ISESCO, where Ambassador D. Dawas, assistant secretary-general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, met with ISESCO Director-General Salem AlMalik.
Discussions focused on intensifying joint efforts to strengthen educational and cultural sectors and support the resilience of the Palestinian people, while protecting their historical and religious rights, officials said.
Both sides stressed that scientific and cultural cooperation remains a key pillar for promoting tolerance, advancing sustainable development and defending what they described as the just causes of the Islamic world.
The talks also underscored continued coordination between the two organizations on issues related to Jerusalem and Palestinian cultural heritage.
