The Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Thursday convened an emergency meeting of its executive committee at the level of foreign ministers to address Israeli measures aimed at annexing parts of the occupied West Bank.
The meeting, held at the OIC’s headquarters in Jeddah, brought together a large number of foreign ministers, ambassadors and representatives of member states amid what the organization described as escalating regional tensions.
Participants discussed the serious repercussions of the annexation plans and broader developments in the Middle East, seeking to forge a unified Islamic position and agree on practical steps to counter what they called Israeli violations.
The OIC said the talks aim to intensify international diplomatic action to protect legitimate Palestinian rights and safeguard regional security and stability in light of current challenges.
