The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) underscored the historical, cultural and humanitarian significance of Jerusalem during a seminar in Rabat titled “Al-Quds (Jerusalem): A Global Narrative for Peace.”
Speaking at a panel discussion organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency, OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and Al-Quds Affairs Ambassador Dr. Dawas Dawas said Jerusalem is more than a political issue, describing it as a symbol deeply rooted in history, collective memory and human identity.
Dawas noted that the OIC’s establishment was closely linked to the issues of Jerusalem and Palestine, which remain at the forefront of the organization’s agenda. He reaffirmed the OIC’s commitment to supporting the city’s cultural and historical heritage.
The event coincided with Rabat’s designation as the Arab Media Capital for 2026. Dawas also expressed appreciation to Morocco and King Mohammed VI for their continued efforts to preserve Jerusalem’s identity and heritage.
