The OIC Group, representing member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, called on the international community to take concrete steps to address alleged human rights violations in the occupied Palestinian territories during the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
Speaking during an interactive dialogue with U.N. Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, the group stressed the need for accountability and protection of Palestinian civilians. The statement highlighted concerns over ongoing violence, displacement, and humanitarian conditions in the territories occupied since 1967.
The OIC Group urged states to uphold international law, support humanitarian access, and implement recommendations presented by the Special Rapporteur, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding human rights and pursuing a just and lasting peace in the region.
