OIC Delegation Meets Officials Cameroonian

An expanded joint meeting of members of the high Organizing Committee led by the Secretary General of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of Cameroon and the delegation of the OIC General Secretariat led by the Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs was held at the Cameroonian Ministry of External Affairs, in relation to the ongoing arrangements for the 50th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers. 

The OIC delegation heard from the Secretary General of the Ministry of External Relations and all senior officials in attendance detailed explanation about the ongoing organizational and protocol-related preparations for the Council of Foreign Ministers Conference to be held in Yaoundé on 29 and 30 August 2024.

The Secretary General assured of his country’s readiness to receive foreign ministers of OIC Member States, stressing that there is a constant and diligent follow up of all arrangements by the Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Mr Mbella Mbella. The Secretary General also paid tribute to the OIC General Secretariat for its role in ensuring the success of the preparatory meetings. He commended the General Secretariat’s delegation for discharging their duties optimally by explaining to the organizing committee all the rules of procedure, logistical and protocol arrangements and all details for the smooth running of the official meetings. He affirmed that this cooperation facilitated progress in concluding the preparations in accordance with OIC standards, rules of procedure and protocols.

On another hand the OIC General Secretariat’s delegation affirmed its full readiness and commitment to discharge the General Secretariat’s mandate in coordination between the two sides to ensure the success of this important conference, and that all departments of the General Secretariat will work closely with the Organizing Committee to achieve success, thus promoting joint Islamic action.

The Organizing Committee and the General Secretariat will continue to work round the clock to facilitate all requirements for participation in the conference for all Member States and various nd institutions and organizations.
