OIC Condemns the Israeli Occupation’s Approval to Establish a Jewish School in the Sheikh Jarrah Neighbourhood of Occupied Jerusalem

​The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the decision of the Israeli occupation authorities to approve the establishment of a Jewish school in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in the occupied city of Jerusalem, which comes within the framework of the Judaisation policy aimed at changing the demographic, geographical, cultural and historical character of the city, obliterating its Arab identity, and igniting a religious conflict whose dangerous consequences cannot be predicted for the region and the world.

​It also warned of the gravity of the continued occupation policies based on settlement, displacement, confiscation and demolition of properties and attempts to change the historical and legal status of Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem, in flagrant violation of the principles of international law and relevant UN resolutions.

​It reiterated that Israel, the occupying power, does not have any sovereignty over the city of Jerusalem and its holy sites, calling on the international community to take the necessary measures to pressure the Israeli occupation to stop all these illegal measures and continuous crimes against the Palestinian people, their land and their holy sites.
