The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation denounced what it described as an attempt to target the Republic of Türkiye with a ballistic missile launched from Iran.
In a statement issued from its General Secretariat in Jeddah, the OIC expressed full solidarity with Türkiye and affirmed its support for the country in protecting its sovereignty and safeguarding its security and stability.
The organization called for an immediate end to actions that could escalate tensions and destabilize the region. It stressed that threatening member states and undermining their security runs counter to the principles of good neighborliness and mutual respect that form the basis of international relations.
The statement did not provide further details on the incident but underscored the OIC’s commitment to regional stability and collective security among its member states.
