The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its strong condemnation of the crime of aggression, violence, and humiliation committed by the Israeli occupation forces, under the supervision of the extremist “National Security Minister” Itamar Ben-Gvir, against the Al-Sumoud Flotilla (“Flotilla of Resilience”), which was carrying international activists and urgent humanitarian and relief aid to the Gaza Strip.
The General Secretariat affirmed that this heinous attack represents a crime of organised terrorism added to the record of repeated crimes committed by the Israeli occupation by systematically targeting institutions, convoys and workers in the field of providing humanitarian assistance and depriving civilians of basic materials and services in the Gaza Strip, in flagrant violation of the rules of international humanitarian law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
The General Secretariat held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the lives and safety of the participants in this humanitarian flotilla, and reiterated that the continuation of the illegal Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip amounts to a war crime and collective punishment that calls for accountability under international criminal law.
