The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned Israel’s decision to seize 15 Palestinian homes in the Silwan neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem, warning that the move would lead to the forced displacement of Palestinian families.
In a statement, the OIC General Secretariat described the action as illegal under international law and accused Israeli authorities of escalating policies aimed at altering the demographic composition and identity of the city.
The group said the confiscation of homes and transfer of property to settlement organizations represents a continuation of what it called systematic displacement practices against Palestinians.
The OIC reiterated that Israeli settlement and annexation measures in the occupied Palestinian territories lack legal validity and violate United Nations resolutions.
It also called on the international community, particularly the U.N. Security Council, to take responsibility for stopping violations and protecting Palestinian civilians.
