The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned on Tuesday an Israeli attack that targeted the Qatari capital, Doha, calling it a blatant violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and international norms.
In a statement issued September 9, the OIC described the assault as a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability while undermining international peace. The organization denounced what it called an assault on the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of the State of Qatar.
OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha reaffirmed that, in line with the organization’s charter, resolutions of the Islamic Summit, and decisions of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the group categorically rejects any attack on the sovereignty and security of its member states.
