The Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, has condemned the drone and missile attacks that targeted civilian and economic facilities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which UAE authorities said came from Iran.
The Secretary-General reiterated his call for the cessation of hostilities across the territories of all OIC Member States. He commended the efforts exerted by OIC Member States and the effective role played by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to de-escalate the situation in the region and sponsor the negotiating track to reach a permanent and comprehensive cessation of hostilities, while adhering to the provisions of international law, respecting the sovereignty of states and the rules of good neighbourliness, and ensuring freedom of navigation in order to strengthen the foundations of regional security and stability.
