Organization of Islamic Cooperation Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha strongly condemned attacks carried out by Iranian-backed militias from Iraqi territory against Saudi Arabia, describing them as a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law.
In a statement issued from Jeddah, Taha denounced what he called "treacherous attacks" launched from Iraqi territory, warning that they threaten regional security and stability.
The OIC chief expressed the organization's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed its support for measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security.
He called on all parties to refrain from actions that could further escalate tensions, stressing the importance of respecting international law and preserving regional stability. The statement comes amid heightened security concerns and renewed tensions affecting the Gulf region.
