The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called for deeper international cooperation in science, technology and innovation during the 15th Korea-ASEAN Symposium on Biomass and Renewable Energy in Bali, Indonesia.
Speaking at the event, OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Science and Technology Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Khokher highlighted the importance of scientific research and technological innovation in achieving sustainable development and economic growth across OIC member states.
Khokher said science, technology and innovation are central pillars of the OIC’s Program of Action 2035, noting ongoing efforts to promote research, technology transfer and STEM education throughout the Islamic world.
He also outlined the organization’s work on developing a Strategic Vision for Artificial Intelligence aimed at supporting future development priorities.
The OIC official reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to making science and innovation key drivers of economic resilience, renewable energy development and shared prosperity among member states.
