Ambassador Tarig Ali Bakheet, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Social and Cultural Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), addressed virtually on 18 November 2025 the Second Regional Forum on the Humanitarian Impacts of Irregular Migration and Social Peacebuilding, convened from 18 to 19 November 2025 in Conakry, Republic of Guinea. The Forum was organized at the initiative of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent (ICIC), in partnership with the Guinean Red Cross.
In his remarks, the Assistant Secretary-General underscored the importance of strengthening humanitarian action and fostering sustainable social peace through dialogue, solidarity, and cooperation among communities. He emphasized the need to support displaced populations, accompany recovery efforts, and uphold human dignity across Africa and beyond.
Ambassador Bakheet reaffirmed the OIC’s readiness to continue working closely with the ICIC, the Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations in OIC Member States, and all relevant partners to advance these shared objectives.
