US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on Wednesday that the US government has officially announced that members of the Russian military have committed war crimes in Ukraine.

This came after Blinken, US President Joe Biden and Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman said that Russia committed war crimes in Ukraine.

"Today I can announce that, based on currently available information, the US government confirms that members of Russian forces have committed war crimes in Ukraine," the US Secretary of State said in a statement.

Noteworthy, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin must end the war in Ukraine, allow aid access, open safe Corridors for civilians and engage in real diplomacy.

According to CNN, Stoltenberg added – in a press conference – that more decisions will be taken tomorrow at the NATO summit, expressing his belief that the leaders will agree to strengthen the capabilities of the alliance in all directions.

“Tomorrow NATO leaders will confirm our support for Ukraine…Ukraine has the right to defend itself according to the UN Charter, we help Ukrainians maintain this fundamental right”.

He added that the NATO summit will discuss China’s role in this crisis
