The Egyptian Security authorities have finally agreed that Al-Ahly and Zamalek game, scheduled for February 24th, will be held on the venue of Cairo Stadium.

The Cairo Derby was postponed from week four of the Egyptian Premier League due to security reasons that affected the league sequence given the Egyptian teams' commitment in the continental missions.

The two arch-rivals will also meet in the Egypt Super Cup in the UAE on Thursday 20 February.

The game will be attended by 27,000 fans for the two Egyptian clubs.

The tournament was held in UAE three times before. The Red Devils and the White Knights met there two times before as Al Ahly won the first encounter 3-2, while the Whites won the second one on penalties.

Also, Al Ahly won the last Super Cup after defeating Al Masry with an unanswered goal.

It is noteworthy that the two Egyptian teams have a busy month, as Al Ahly are set to clash against Mamelodi Sundowns, while Zamalek are set to face Espérance Sportive de Tunis at the quarter-finals for the CAF Champions League (CL).

The first leg of Al Ahly’s encounter versus Mamelodi Sundowns will be in Cairo on February 28 or 29, while the second leg will be in South Africa on March 6 or 7.

On the other hand, the White Knights are set to host the Tunisian side in Cairo on February 28 or 29, whereas the second leg will be in Tunisia on March 6 or 7.

The winner of Zamalek and ES Tunis will face either TP Mazembe or Raja in the Semi-finals as the first leg will be held on May 1 or 2, while the second leg will be on May 8 or 9.

On the other hand, the winner of Al Ahyl’s clash against Sundowns will face either Étoile Sportive du Sahel or Wydad in the Semi-finals as the first leg will be held on May 1 or 2, while the second leg will be on May 8 or 9.
