Egypt has produced 10 million doses of Sinovac Coronavirus vaccine, Health ministry spokesman Khaled Megahed said on Wednesday.
In press remarks, he added that 7 million of these doses will be distributed among 1100 vaccination centers across the republic.
On Tuesday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 778 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 308,347.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 17,508 nationwide after the ministry announced 39 deaths.
About 893 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 260,540.
Egypt plans to vaccinate 40 million citizens by the end of the year, representing around 40% of the population.
