The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has raised alarm over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, stating that no humanitarian aid has been allowed into the enclave for more than 50 days.
In a statement released on Thursday, the UN humanitarian agency warned that essential supplies, including food, water, medicine, and fuel, are rapidly running out. “For over 50 days, no humanitarian supplies have been permitted to enter Gaza. Everything is running out,” the agency said.
The prolonged restriction on aid access has exacerbated an already dire crisis, leaving over two million residents of Gaza facing severe shortages and a deepening risk of famine. Hospitals are struggling to operate, clean water is scarce, and many families are relying on minimal rations, often going days without adequate meals.
OCHA reiterated its call for immediate and sustained humanitarian access to the region, stressing that the international community must act urgently to prevent further suffering and loss of life.
