Disney+ officially announced on Monday an impressive cast for their upcoming Star Wars TV series "Obi-Wan Kenobi".
The series is directed by Deborah Chow, who helmed two episodes of "The Mandalorian", and features Ewan McGregor as the titular Jedi master and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader.
It will also star Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Sung Kang, Rupert Friend, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie, and others.
"Obi-Wan Kenobi" is set 10 years after the events of the 2005 film "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith", which featured Obi-Wan (McGregor) facing his former padawan, Anakin Skywalker (Christensen), who got corrupted by the Dark Side. The film ended with the famous Jedi taking newborn twins Luke Skywalker and Lea Organa into hiding.
The series will start production this April. Filming was originally set to take place at a much earlier date, but McGregor confirmed in January 2021 that production was postponed back a little bit due to the scripts.
