A report published by the American newspaper “The New York Times (NYT)” said that US President Joe Biden is facing deep anger inside and outside the White House, because of his support for Israel and his strong solidarity with it since the start of the war in Gaza.
The report indicated that, a few weeks after the start of the war on Gaza, Biden invited a small group of prominent Muslim Americans to the White House to discuss Islamophobia in America.
The participants in that meeting were very frank with Biden about their opposition to his position on the war, according to four people who were present at this meeting.
They told Biden that his support for Israel, after the attacks of last October 7, amounted to “permission for the Israeli bombing of Gaza.”
They said that the president's statement, which cast doubt on the death toll among Palestinians, was "insulting."
They also pointed out that the fatal stabbing of the 6-year-old Palestinian Muslim child, Wadih al-Fayoumi, in Chicago, was merely a devastating result of American society's dehumanization.
