Tech giant Nvidia, in collaboration with Indonesian telecommunications company PT Indosat Tbk, is planning to build a $200 million artificial intelligence center in the country, according to a government official.

Budi Arie Setiadi, the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, stated in a press release on April 3 that the two companies will construct the facility in the city of Surakarta in Central Java.

Nvidia, a renowned multinational technology company based in the United States, specializes in designing graphics processing units (GPUs) for gaming and professional markets, as well as system-on-a-chip units for mobile computing.

The company's venture into establishing an artificial intelligence center in Indonesia reflects its commitment to expanding its presence in emerging markets and fostering technological development in Southeast Asia.

PT Indosat Tbk, commonly known as Indosat Ooredoo, is one of the largest telecommunications networks in Indonesia, providing mobile services, internet, and other digital solutions to millions of customers across the archipelago.
