The "Israel in Arabic" page on the social networking site "Facebook" published data showing the number of Jews around the world.

Today, Monday, the official page of the State of Israel in Arabic said that the number of Jews in the world is less than 60% of the population of the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

The page published an expressive picture of the continents of the world and the number of Jews who live in each continent, in addition to the number of Jews who live in Israel alone.

The total number of Jews around the world exceeded 14.4 million people.

The publication clarified that the number of Jews in the world is still lower today than it was on the eve of the outbreak of World War II (WWII) and the Holocaust when the number of Jews in the world at that time was 16.6 million.

It added that the number of Jews on the eve of the establishment of the State of Israel was 11.5 million, following the extermination of 6 million Jews in the Holocaust.

Last April, official statistics revealed that the Jewish population in Israel had fallen to the lowest level since the founding of the Jewish state on May 15, 1948.

According to the "Jerusalem Post", an English-spoken daily newspaper, data from the Central Bureau of Statistics in Israel revealed that the number of Jews fell below the threshold of 74% of the total population for the first time this year.

The data showed that after the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, the percentage of Jews was 82.1%, while it currently stands at 73.9%.

On the seventieth anniversary of the founding of the Jewish state, the percentage of the Jewish population was 74.5%, declining by more than half a percent in just three years.

Additional data revealed on the eve of the founding day that the population of Israel is currently 9 million and 327 thousand people.
