"Russian army is firing from all sides upon Zaporizhzhia NPP, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. Fire has already broke out. If it blows up, it will be 10 times larger than Chornobyl! Russians must IMMEDIATELY cease the fire, allow firefighters, establish a security zone!" Orlov posted on Twitter Friday morning.

"Firefighters were unable to get to the fire at the nuclear power plant, according to Orloff, although he did not specify the cause. Heavy fighting had closed roads to the power plant in Enerhodar, which is 70 miles (112 kilometers) from the city of Zaporizhia."

According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Zaporizhzhia plant is Ukraine's largest nuclear power plant and contains six of the country's 15 nuclear power reactors.
