The National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) announced that its National Seismic Network recorded a minor earth tremor east of Cairo at 12:02 p.m. local time on Tuesday.
According to the institute, the tremor was caused by ongoing construction work rather than natural seismic activity.
NRIAG confirmed that no reports were received from residents feeling the tremor and that the incident resulted in no injuries or property damage.
The institute added that the National Seismic Network monitored and recorded the event, stressing that it was not linked to any natural earthquake activity but was associated with construction operations in the area.
