On Tuesday, the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) addressed the trending posts, and talk on social media on the expectations of a Tsunami in the Mediterranean Sea.
The head of the earthquakes department at NRIAG Sherif Al Hady told Egyptian reports that the situation in Egypt is stable and normal, asserting that there is no any threat.
Al Hady added that all beaches in Egypt are safe, and there are no any Tsunami threats in the Mediterranean.
He also rejected the latest statements issued by Frank Hoogerbeets on a Tsunami in the sea that could impact Greece, Italy, and Egypt.
In the same context, the deputy head of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission Amr Hamoda said that there is no link between climate change, the rise in sea levels, and Tsunami, adding that the rises in the sea levels are more connected to weather, high and low tides, and air pressure.
