Norway has announced a landmark military assistance package to Ukraine, valued at over 7 billion kroner ($695 million), aimed at strengthening Kyiv’s air defense capabilities.
According to the Norwegian government, the systems will be supplied in cooperation with Germany, which will deliver the equipment directly to Ukraine.
The package includes two Patriot air defense missile systems complete with ammunition, German-made TRML-4D radars produced by Hensoldt, and Kongsberg’s Typhon 2 short-range air defense systems.
Germany, already the second-largest arms supplier to Ukraine after the United States, has provided more than €40 billion in military aid since the outset of the conflict. Berlin’s continued partnership with Oslo underscores Europe’s commitment to bolstering Ukraine’s air defense network amid persistent Russian strikes.
Moscow, however, has repeatedly warned that supplying Kyiv with advanced weapons systems only prolongs the war rather than fostering a path toward peace.
