North Sinai Gov.: No Causalities in Arish Gas Explosion

Major General Mohamed Abd El Fadil Shousha, Governor of North Sinai confirmed on Thursday that the fire that broke out due to the explosion of the feeding gas line in the western Arish area has been controlled after closing the line’s main control valves.

The governor added that the explosion will not affect the gas supply to the electric steam station, the industrial area, and the North Sinai citizens houses.

He praised the cooperation with the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO) for quickly closing the main line valves when the explosion took place.

The governor confirmed that there is minimal losses and no human causalities, adding that the concerned authorities are currently investigating the cause of the explosion and cleaning the explosion scene.
