North Korea's Kim Jong Un, Russia’s State Duma Meet in Pyongyang

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, on Sunday, met Vyacheslav Volodin, speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, on a visit to the DPRK to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at the Overseas Military Operations.

Kim warmly greeted Volodin and had a friendly talk.

The minister courteously conveyed the best congratulations and wishes from Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, to Comrade Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Kim expressed deep thanks for it and asked Volodin to convey his warm greetings to the esteemed Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

Warmly welcoming the visit of the official delegation of the Russian Federation to the DPRK, he highly appreciated that it is an expression of the stand and will of the Russian leadership to attach importance to and consolidate the relations of alliance between the two countries that President Putin sent a high-level delegation led by Volodin to the inauguration ceremony of the Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at the Overseas Military Operations.

It was a historic event proving the mightiness and firmness of the DPRK-Russia alliance that the armies and peoples of the two countries fought shoulder to shoulder and won a victory in the operations for liberating Kursk, he noted, adding that the current visit of the Russian official delegation would be an important occasion in boosting the feelings of friendship and unity between the peoples of the two countries to a new high level.

Volodin said that it is his honor to take part in the inauguration ceremony of the Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at the Overseas Military Operations today and express his heartfelt thanks once again to the DPRK soldiers, who died in the sacred struggle to liberate the Russian territory from the Ukrainian Nazi forces, and their bereaved families. And he stressed that the Russian people would always remember the feats of the DPRK people and soldiers who provided fraternal assistance to liberating Kursk.

The talk reaffirmed the will to develop the DPRK-Russia relations in a comprehensive way in line with the spirit of the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership and thus promote the national interests of the two countries and the wellbeing of the two peoples.

The talk proceeded in a warm and trustworthy atmosphere.
