In a strong diplomatic signal underscoring continuity in bilateral relations, Kim Yong Ho, Acting Head of Embassy of North Korea in Cairo, affirmed that strengthening ties with Egypt remains a steadfast and unwavering policy of North Korea.

Speaking during an official reception held Monday evening at the embassy headquarters in Cairo, Kim emphasized that relations between Egypt and North Korea are rooted in a longstanding historical friendship established and nurtured by previous leaders of both nations.

He described the relationship as one defined by enduring cooperation and mutual support during periods of hardship.

The event marked the successful conclusion of the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, a milestone political gathering that Kim characterized as a defining moment reflecting the achievements of the party and the North Korean people over the past five years, while also setting the stage for a new phase of national development.

Kim stressed that, regardless of shifting geopolitical dynamics, Pyongyang remains committed to expanding and deepening cooperation with Cairo.

He highlighted shared ideals centered on justice, peace, development, and progress as the foundation for advancing bilateral engagement, particularly between the Workers’ Party of Korea and Egypt’s diverse political parties.

The chargé d’affaires also expressed appreciation for the participation of prominent Egyptian political figures and party leaders, noting their presence as a reflection of growing political dialogue and mutual respect between the two sides.

In his remarks, Kim praised the leadership of Kim Jong Un, attributing the country’s resilience and development trajectory to what he described as strategic vision and innovative policymaking.

He stated that the outcomes of the Ninth Party Congress would serve as a launching point toward accelerated national prosperity, driven by principles of self-reliance and sovereignty.

Reaffirming North Korea’s broader ideological stance, Kim noted that the country’s path toward achieving its national aspirations continues amid challenges posed by what he described as external pressures and global power imbalances. He added that cooperation with progressive forces worldwide remains a priority in pursuit of independence and equality.

Concluding his address, Kim expressed confidence that joint efforts would further strengthen friendly relations between Egypt and North Korea at both governmental and popular levels.

He also extended his well wishes to Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Kim Jong Un, alongside his hopes for continued prosperity and well-being for both nations and their peoples.
