"No Time To Die", the 25th installment in the James Bond franchise, was scheduled to be released in 2020 but was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Now, the makers of the film are set to re-shoot key scenes because 007's technology is out-of-date. The updates will allegedly be made in hopes of saving product placement deals from sponsors who are concerned their high-tech items have evolved over the one-year delay.
An insider told The Sun on Monday that the details of the gadgets and things are all kept tightly under wraps, but everyone knows that James Bond always carries the latest kit with him.
The source added: "But by the time the movie comes out now, it will look like Daniel Craig and all of the other cast members are carrying something that has been out for ages. That isn’t really the point of these deals. It means some of the scenes are going to have to be very carefully edited and looked at to bring things up to date,".
No Time To Die reportedly features a number of sponsored products including gadgets from tech firms and mobile phones provided by Nokia - which the makers said to be keen to change scenes where tech guru Q hands out items.
Other rumored product deals include Omega watches, Adidas footwear, and Bollinger champagne.
No Time To Die is set to hit the theaters on October 8, 2021, which will feature Daniel Craig's last performance as the 007 agents.
The film, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, was originally scheduled for release in April 2020 but was pushed back to November, then to April 2021, in light of the pandemic.
"No Time To Die" follows Bond after he has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica when his old friend Felix Leiter, played by Jeffrey Wright, from the CIA turns up asking for help.
Leaving his seemingly happy life with Madeleine (Lea Seydoux), Bond returns to the field to face Safin (Rami Malek) who is armed with a new dangerous technology that could impact the world.
