An aviation expert on the Minneapolis-St. Paul Aviation Spotting Facebook group found a flight track that shows a 1992 Mooney M.20-M that tracked from west to east over Lake Waconia and then flew over Highway 5 before crashing.

The post shows aviation information to suggest that the aircraft was descending at 9,600 feet per minute prior to the crash.
