Al Ahly’s executive manager Said Shalaby has all but confirmed that Pitso Mosimane will remain in his position as the club’s head coach despite rumours of sacking the South African.|

Despite his achievements, Mosimane has been under scrutiny recently with former Al Ahly players urging the club board to replace the South African coach.

On the other hand, many other footballing personalities have come out in support of Mosimane, including Wadi Degla president Maged Samy, saying the coach is a scapegoat for Al Ahly ‘s board.

Mosimane is expected to have another meeting with Al Ahly’s board, led by Mahmoud El Khatib, on Saturday, which will decide his fate in Cairo.

However, Al Ahly’s executive manager Said Shalaby believes Pitso will continue with the club as the board is pleased with the team’s performance under his charge.

“There is always coordination with the club’s board and the planning committee. Mosimane had requested a vacation because we worked for long periods without rest, so his vacation was after coordination with the club.
