Under the title "Shady Abdel Salam and the Search for Egyptian Identity", the Grand Theater of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat witnessed a cultural and artistic ceremony, as part of the first activities of "Cinema and Civilization."

These events are organized by the museum within the framework of cultural and artistic programs to revive the art of cinema, in the presence of a large number of public figures, ambassadors, artists, art lovers, critics, writers and filmmakers.

Ahmed Ghoneim, the CEO of the Museum Authority, started the ceremony with a speech in which he welcomed the guests, expressing his happiness with this celebration and the museum’s embrace of it.

Ghoneim pointed out that this celebration comes as the beginning of a series of events organized by the museum under the title “Cinema and Civilization”, within the framework of the cultural and artistic programs that it organizes periodically, which is one of the most prominent Egyptian arts throughout history.

He added that the ancient Egyptian civilization has been for many years a source of inspiration for filmmakers in Egypt and the world, which has made this civilization more widespread everywhere,

Ghoneim noted that cinema is one of the most important tools of knowledge and an effective cultural means that aims to improve society, and it also plays a role prominent in shaping its values, customs and arts.

On his part, director Sherif Fathy said that the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is the most appropriate place in the world to celebrate director Shady Abdel Salam, who has a unique cinematic heritage.
