On Friday, Nicolas Maduro was sworn in as the President of Venezuela for a third team after winning the elections.
Maduro was sworn in at Venezuela’s legislative palace, therefore, it was guarded by police, military and intelligence officers.
Pro-Maduro activists gathered in the streets and the palace.
Maduro was announced the winner of the country’s presidential election on July 28.
On the other hand, the opposition said that there were thousands of votes in favor of their candidate, Edmundo Gonzalez, asserting that he won the elections with 67% against Maduro’s 30%.
Amid the elections, a protest took place in Caracas, yesterday, in addition, the opposition claimed that their leader was detained.
